In thinkwithgoogle.com’s latest post, they finally acknowledge the fact that we as marketers need to “must also know what their audience is looking for and in what context.”
This has been a well known fact and well kept secret by those marketing agencies that really do deliver results for their clients, that not only do you need to know your potential customers but know what they are looking for and how they want you to tell them that you know what they want. This is essentially a marketing “basic” that you must get agreement from your audiences at their level and not what you assume they want to hear or think.
To quote their article we must do 3 main things to achieve this:
“1. Focus on consumers’ intent, not just their demographics ”
“2. Customize creative at scale”
“3. Match your message to the moment”.
Welcome to real marketing Google. Glad you finally got wise and make known what real marketing agencies have known since the days of Mad Men.
